Qatar donates vehicles to boost Foreign Affairs’ logistics

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Ministry for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation has received two Land Cruiser Prado vehicles from Qatar, intending to support services for leaders visiting the country on national and official trips.
Qatar, which is a partner in Tanzania’s economic development, offered the cars following a request from Tanzanian government for vehicles and motorcycles to facilitate services for foreign dignitaries during their visits to the country.

According to information from the ministry, Qatar is in the process of sending six motorcycles.
Speaking at the ministry’s branch offices in Dar es Salaam after receiving documents of the vehicles, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, thanked Qatar for being a major development partner to Tanzania and pledged to make good use of the assistance to address challenges encountered in the course of work.

Handing over the car keys, the Chief Transport Officer, Maulid Mkenda, urged Minister Kombo to take good care of the vehicles so that they last long and deliver value and efficiency.

Among many other things, Qatar has been providing cooperation in youth employment by offering job opportunities for Tanzanian drivers in Qatar, with more opportunities continuing to become available and announced.
