MINISTER of the State in the President’s Office (Planning and Investment), Professor Kitila Mkumbo has vowed that his ministry will step up efforts to attract foreign investors, taking advantage of the country’s attractive investment climate.

Prof Mkumbo mentioned some of the aspects that make Tanzania an attractive investment destination as including political stability, country’s geographical location, developed ports’ infrastructure, low electricity tariffs and President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s political will to promote the country.

Minister made the assurance in Dodoma on Tuesday this week during the ministry’s management meeting.

He said one of the key things to be managed and implemented by the ministry’s investment portfolio is to ensure that more investors come to invest in different sectors so as to ensure the country’s economy continues to grow.

Prof Mkumbo noted that the ministry was collaborating with the President’s Office (Regional Administration and Local Governments-PORALG) to ensure that economic activities take place at grassroots level to help small investors and entrepreneurs invest, produce and ultimately grow economically.

He said his ministry will continue to promote local investors so that the country produces many wealthy Tanzanians.

He said his ministry will effectively communicate to Tanzanians about the President’s vision and policy direction as well as ensuring that the country’s plans are implemented.

“Our responsibility is also to ensure that all the country’s plans are implemented properly and known to the public and to investors, as well,” he said.
