He said another school in at Mandawa area is on final stages of completion. On water services, the Premier said all 90 villages in the district are supplied with safe and clean water from drilled wells through the GAIN institution. However, he noted that more efforts are being done to improve the situation since the available water is not enough to sustain the demands.

Mr Majaliwa said the government has allocated 49bn/- for the construction of the water project from Nyangao aiming at supplying water to 34 villages in Ruangwa District and 29 villages in Nachingwea District.

On electricity, the Premier said all villages have been covered with power connection and that the government is currently working on electrifying the hamlets. On roads construction, Mr Majaliwa admitted that it was challenging to reach some villages such as Mtondo.

However, the Premier said plans were already in place to construct all roads in the area for people to travel from one place to another without any problem.

“We request your assistance to increase the funds for the construction of the road from Mtondo to Mkaranga Secondary school and the bridge over the Moha River in Mkaranga Village. The government has already allocated 300m/- but this amount is not enough compared to the projects on the ground,” he said.

Mr Mtejela also asked the government to build a boys’ dormitory at Nambiranje Secondary school to address the challenges of long walking distance among children. He said some children walk as long as 7.5 kilometres from Mtondo Village while others walk up to 16 kilometres from Nanjalu to school.

He said so far Nambiranje Secondary School has one girls’ dormitory with a capacity to accommodate 80 students.
