President Samia’s directives as new Katiba writing preps gain momentum

President Samia Suluhu Hassan has instructed the Registrar of Political Parties, Judge Mutungi to convene a special Political Parties Council meeting for stakeholders to evaluating implementation status of Task Force’s recommendations.
The Head of State issued the directive at a meeting held at the Chamwino State House in Dodoma on Saturday.
The meeting, which was attended by various government officials, focused on process of writing a new Constitution.
A statement issued by the Director of Presidential Communications, Zuhura Yunus the meeting didn’t only focused on how to involve stakeholders in the process but also the participation of citizens from both mainland and Isles.
Meeting’s members also discussed amendments of laws related to elections including the law of Political Parties.
Top government officials attended the meeting were the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Coordination and Parliament) Jenista Mhagama, Minister of Constitutional and Legal Affairs Damas Ndumbaro and executives of various Institutions.
