President Samia issues 6-month ultimatum to Tanesco DG
DAR ES SALAAM: PRESIDENT Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan has issued a six-month ultimatum to the newly appointed Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO) Director General Engineer Gissima Nyamo-Hanga to ensure the electricity crisis is resolved.
The Head of State issued the directive at the State House in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday shortly after administering oaths of various Ambassadors and executives who were recently appointed.
“I am only giving you strictly six months, after this time, I do not want to hear any concerns relating to power cuts,” said President Samia pledging to support the state utility Managing Director in the endeavor.
“The country is facing a crisis…the crisis does not belong to an individual but the whole nation,” said President Samia insisting that the shift of the former TANESCO boss was not due to power outages within the country.
