President Mwinyi joins Zanzibari in Eid prayers

ZANZIBAR: The President of Zanzibar, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, today,  June 7, 2025, joined Muslim faithful in performing the Eid Al-Adha prayers held at Masjid Taqwa, in the Central District of South Unguja Region.

President Mwinyi attended the important religious event  accompanied by various leaders from the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, celebrating the holy day together with the citizens of Zanzibar.

Eid Al-Adha is observed by Muslims around the world as part of fulfilling the Islamic pillar of Hajj.

Following the conclusion of the prayers, President Mwinyi proceeded to the Office of the Regional Commissioner for South Unguja, where he participated in the ritual slaughtering of a sacrificial animal (Udh-hiya), a key component of the Eid Al-Adha observance.

These activities symbolize unity, compassion, and generosity toward the community, particularly the less fortunate, reflecting the true essence and teachings of Eid Al-Adha.
