Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has formed a 14-member team to get to the bottom of challenges in the famous Kariakoo business centre and other markets.
The seven members selected from various public institutions and the other seven from the traders.

Others are Permanent Secretary ( Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups) Dar es Salaam Administrative Secretary (RAS) and two officials from TRA.
Traders at popular market, which also serves East and Central African countries, on Monday closed their shops, calling for the removal of what they termed as nuisance levies imposed and collected by the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA).
Speaking to the traders at Mnazi Mmoja grounds in Dar es Salaam Prime Ministers pledged to the traders to make sure that they return the customers that have decided to leave following the strike and make the market remain vibrant and businesses to continue blossoming .
The Premier also said that the removal of the tax collection taskforce remains in place as it was done by illegally insisting that such a move will hamper and kill business .
“Store levies charged by the Ministry of Industry and Trade do not have any problem, there is a problem somewhere, the existing law is not bad, it is possible that the regulations are the ones causing problems, so I am suspending those regulations,” he said.
Regarding the seized stuff, Minister Majaliwa has ordered all the stuff owners to give information to the committee created so that the coordination to get their stuff can begin.
