PM to officiate at Nanenane opening in Dodoma

DIODOMA: Prime Minister Dr Mwigulu Nchemba is expected to officiate the opening of the 2026 National and International Nane Nane Exhibition on August 1 at the Dr John Samuel Malecela Grounds in Nzuguni, Dodoma.

A statement issued in Dodoma by the National and International Nane Nane Exhibition Organizing Committee said that preparations for the annual event have been completed and called on exhibitors to finalise the installation of their products, technologies, and business displays by July 30.

Held under the theme “Know the Market; Increase Productivity to Achieve Vision 2050,” the exhibition will run from August 1 to 8 and is jointly organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, and the Central Zone regions of Dodoma and Singida.

The event will showcase innovations and technologies in agriculture, livestock, and fisheries while providing a platform for discussions on investment opportunities, trade, financial literacy, youth and women’s empowerment, and cooperative development. A livestock parade and other activities are also scheduled.

The committee said August 3 will be observed as Cooperatives Day and will also mark the 10th anniversary of the Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI), with Vice President Dr Emanuel John Nchimbi expected to officiate.

President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan is expected to preside over the closing ceremony and the National and International Nane Nane celebrations for farmers, livestock keepers, and fishers on August 8.

According to the committee, the exhibition aims to showcase the Sixth Phase Government’s achievements in strengthening the agriculture, livestock, and fisheries sectors while bringing together government officials, policymakers, researchers, development partners, private sector representatives, cooperatives, farmers, fishers, livestock keepers, and investors from Tanzania and abroad.

Parallel Nane Nane exhibitions will also be held in seven other zones across the country, including Mbeya, Morogoro, Lindi, Mwanza, Simiyu, Arusha, and Tabora.
