Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has challenged Namungo FC to work hard in their premier league matches in order to finish the season on top of the table.
Speaking today during the inauguration of Majaliwa Stadium in Ruangwa, Lindi which is home venue to Namungo FC, the Prime Minister says the team should thrive to make it big this season.
“Last season, we finished the league on fifth slot but now, we aim to go on top and challenge the three top teams (Young Africans, Simba and Azam),” says him.
Again, Majaliwa thanked Rwanga residents for their immense cooperation throughout the entire exercise of upgrading the stadium’s pitch saying without them, nothing could have happened.
“Initially, we planted natural grass on the pitch but due to the status of salty water we have, with good cooperation from all Rwanga people, we decided to replace it with the artificial grass as you can see in front of you,” says him.
He also disclosed that plans are in pipeline to construct enough sitting areas around the stadium so that everyone should be enjoying matches while comfortably seated.
Among other infrastructures, the stadium has also been fitted with floodlights which qualifies it to host night league games, making it the fifth arena with such qualities.
Other venues which currently support night matches in the country are Benjamin Mkapa Stadium (Dar es Salaam), Azam Complex (Dar es Salaam), Jamhuri Stadium (Dodoma) and Kaitaba Stadium (Kagera).
