Patel Brotherhood beat Titans for first league win

DAR ES SALAAM: PATEL Brotherhood A secured a much-needed 7-wicket victory over Dar Indian Titans in the TCA DC Super League 50 Overs 2025 at Gymkhana Oval on Sunday.
This was a crucial win for Patel Brotherhood A, as it marked their first victory in the Group A campaign after three consecutive defeats.
Winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Patel Brotherhood A quickly imposed themselves on the Dar Indian Titans’ batting lineup, dismissing them for a modest 123 runs in just 31.5 overs.
The Titans’ innings was marked by struggles, with few partnerships taking shape. Abubakar Juma was the lone standout, scoring 41 runs off 53 balls, while Rohit Naidu contributed with 32 runs off 66 balls.
However, neither could anchor the innings long enough and the rest of the team faltered under pressure. Patel Brotherhood A’s bowlers led the charge, with Vishal Patel (4/31) and Benson Nyaikini (4/32) putting on an impressive display.
Nyaikini’s four-wicket haul included critical dismissals, while Farhaan Vohra’s 1/12 in 4 overs was another key performance in restricting the Titans to a low total.

Patel Brotherhood A, chasing 124 runs, faced a slight scare early on with the dismissal of Abdallah Hassani for a duck. However, the team quickly regrouped, with Juma playing a steady knock of 41 runs and Acrey Pascal providing the needed acceleration with 26 runs off 16 balls.
Despite a couple of wickets falling, the chase was always under control. Harsh Khidkikar’s 15 runs and Vishal Patel’s quick 18 off 17 balls sealed the victory with ease, as Patel Brotherhood A reached 126/3 in just 28.2 overs, well within the required target.
This win gave Patel Brotherhood A their first points in the tournament, lifting them to fourth place on the Group A table. Unfortunately, it was another setback for the Dar Indian Titans, who are still at the bottom of the table after suffering their fourth consecutive defeat.
At the top of the table, Aga Khan SC lead with six points, tied on points with Delaware Upanga SC and Pak Stars.
However, the difference in their positions is due to net run rate, making the race at the top as competitive as ever. For Patel Brotherhood A, this victory was a much needed boost after their rough start to the tournament. With two points in the bag, they will now look to build momentum and make a strong push for the top spots in their remaining matches.
