Pakistan, Tanzania eye stronger healthcare trade ties
DAR ES SALAAM: Tanzania and Pakistan are exploring opportunities to strengthen trade and investment cooperation in the healthcare sector through increased exchange of medical products, technologies and business partnerships.
Speaking at the opening of the 27th MED EXPO in Dar es Salaam, Chargé d’Affaires at the High Commission of Pakistan, Muhammad Azeem Khan, said Pakistan’s participation in the exhibition reflected the growing opportunities for the two countries to expand commercial relations in the healthcare industry.
He said the exhibition provides an important platform for Pakistani companies to showcase their products and technologies while connecting with Tanzanian businesses, healthcare providers and potential investors.
“This participation reflects the growing opportunities to strengthen Pakistan-Tanzania trade and investment through healthcare products, technology and business partnerships,” Mr Khan said.

The exhibition brings together manufacturers and suppliers from Pakistan, Türkiye, India and Egypt, providing them with an opportunity to showcase pharmaceuticals, surgical equipment, medical technologies and other healthcare solutions.
The participants are also using the exhibition to engage potential customers and business partners, with the aim of creating new commercial links and expanding access to healthcare products and technologies in Tanzania and the wider East African market.
The 27th MED EXPO was officially opened by Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Ismail Rumatila, who cut the ribbon to mark the official opening of the exhibition in Dar es Salaam.
The event is expected to provide a platform for stakeholders in the healthcare sector to exchange knowledge, explore new technologies and identify opportunities for trade and investment in the medical industry.
