“The items donated will help to reduce diseases transmission… they will be used in all children’s wards by both inpatients and outpatients. The workers are also grateful for the support such as sanitizers to clean their hands,” said MNH Acting Director of Nursing and Midwifery Services, Ms Priscillah Kinyamagoha.

This support of the hand sanitiser included bottles that are distributed to our patients and large jerry cans to refill our dispensers.

The first donation has already benefited a total of 4,000 inpatients, 20,500 outpatients, and 2,000 staff members in our children’s wards have benefited from hand sanitizers” said Kinyamagoha.

On his part, Tanzania Business Scouts for Development Advisor (GIZ) Lydia Koch said sanitizing items are crucial for the well-being, health and safety of the targeted group particular in areas where the availability of clean running water is not guaranteed.

“Hand sanitizer can improve health safety of patients in the hospital. The GIZ is also involved in improving healthy performance and facilitating access to better quality health services in the regions of Tanga and Mbeya. This builds on more than 25 years of support to Tanzania’s health sector by the German government” Koch said.

“The GIZ helps in preventing communicable diseases within the country and   expanding production capacity.”

He expressed gratitude to MNH for smooth cooperation in receiving the large deliveries of jet sanitizer and ensuring the distribution to the patients and staff,” said   Koch.
