O’ Sullivan to celebrate St Patrick’s Day in Dar as Tanzania, Ireland deepen ties

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Irish Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage responsible for Nature, Heritage and Biodiversity, Christopher O’Sullivan TD, will celebrate the Ireland’s National Day (St. Patrick’s Day) in Tanzania.
O’ Sullivan arrived in Tanzania for a official visit that aimed at strengthening cooperation between Tanzania and Ireland.
According to an official statement, O’Sullivan arrived in the country on March 10, 2026, through Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) and began his visit in Arusha Region before traveling to Dar es Salaam on March 11, 2026 to continue with his scheduled engagements.
Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, he was received by the Acting Director of the Europe and Americas Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Seif Kamtunda.

During the visit, O’Sullivan is expected to hold talks with the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation responsible for East African Affairs, James Milya, where they will discuss various areas of cooperation between the two countries.
As part of his itinerary, the minister will also visit Muhimbili National Hospital and participate in celebrations marking Ireland’s National Day (St. Patrick’s Day) to be held in Tanzania.
In addition, O’Sullivan will meet with the association of Irish businesspeople and investors operating in Tanzania. The meeting is intended to strengthen economic cooperation and promote trade and investment ties between Tanzania and Ireland.
