ZANZIBAR: THE National Social Security Fund (NSSF) capitalised on the Kizimkazi Festival 2024 as an opportunity to reach out to different groups of people engaging in economic activities in the private and informal sectors for educating them about social security matters.
At the festival held in Zanzibar, the NSSF raised awareness about the importance of joining the fund to various individuals at the event while also exploring investment opportunities.
“The Kizimkazi festival is a significant opportunity because it attracts people from different places within and outside the country.
Therefore, the Fund has a chance to provide education on social security among members of the public,” stated NSSF’s Director General Masha Mshomba during the closing event on Tuesday.
President Samia Suluhu Hassan was the chief guest at the closing ceremony where the NSSF handed over 50m/- to support commercial agricultural activities in the country.
He stated that the NSSF uses the opportunity of the presence of the Kizimkazi festival because it has a mandate to reach both the formal and informal sectors, which includes a large group of people such as farmers, pastoralists, entrepreneurs and others.
Mr Mshomba assured Tanzanians that the NSSF aims to reach small entrepreneurs in various parts of the country to provide them education on social security matters and encourage them to join the Fund.
