THE National Insurance Corporation of Tanzania (NIC) eyes to reduce time for settling customers’ claims to only four days as it gears up for efficient services.
Speaking at the ongoing 47th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), the NIC Director of marketing and communication, Mr Kareem Meshack said they are currently providing the services within seven days.
“We have been paying the compensation within seven days and now we are planning to start paying compensation within four days, and later we think of a close deal in 24 hours if the customer’s claim will be straight,” said Meshack, adding that every NIC employee has a target to serve the customer within the required time.
He said in order to reach every Tanzanian, the corporation has launched a progamme dubbed ‘NIC service at your fingertips (NIC kiganjani mwako)’ whereby a customer can get insurance services and make follow up on his claims without going to the NIC offices.
“This year the NIC has emerged a super brand in East Africa, this shows how we provide the best services since we acquired International Standardisation Organisation for (ISO) certificate,” Mr Meshack argued, adding that their corporation has extended its services beyond borders.
