Nanenane attracts record 1,133 exhibitors
DODOMA: THE 2026 National and International Nanenane Exhibition has attracted a record 1,133 exhibitors, a 26 per cent increase from last year, reflecting growing confidence in Tanzania’s agriculture, livestock, fisheries, trade and investment sectors.
The exhibition, which officially opens this week in Dodoma, has drawn participants from across the country and abroad, with organisers describing this year’s turnout as the highest since the Central Zone exhibition was established.
Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Engineer Athuman Kirundumya, announced the milestone after inspecting the exhibition grounds alongside Dodoma Regional Commissioner Rosemary Senyamule, saying preparations had been completed.
Eng Kirundumya said exhibitors from North America, Africa, Asia and Europe would showcase modern agricultural technologies and best farming practices, including participants from the United States, the Netherlands and Burundi.
He urged Tanzanians to visit the exhibition to learn about modern farming technologies and interact with public institutions and private sector stakeholders that will offer solutions to challenges facing farmers, including land disputes.
“We welcome all Tanzanians to visit the exhibition and learn from the various modern agricultural practices and technologies on display. Farmers will also have an opportunity to seek solutions to challenges affecting them through the institutions participating in the event,” he said.
The Deputy Permanent Secretary responsible for Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanisation also encouraged farmers to use the exhibition as a platform to embrace modern technologies and transition from subsistence to commercial agriculture.

He said farmers would gain practical knowledge on improved seeds, modern production techniques and value addition to increase productivity and profitability.
“We want farmers to take advantage of this opportunity to acquire knowledge and technologies that will transform agriculture into a competitive and profitable business,” he said.
Ms Senyamule said the exhibition has attracted 24 international exhibitors and 20 small-scale entrepreneurs showcasing innovations and locally produced goods.
She added that visitors will access modern farming technologies, improved seeds, agricultural machinery, livestock and fisheries services, as well as technical advice from government experts and private sector stakeholders.
Ms Senyamule said the exhibition grounds have undergone major upgrades, including permanent infrastructure that will continue providing agricultural, livestock and fisheries services throughout the year.
