Nancy upbeat to shine in Nigerian Pageant

THE Tanzanian fashionist, Nancy Matta is upbeat to shine in the sixth edition of the 2022 Miss Africa Calabar pageant which takes place  in Nigeria early next week.

The Miss Africa Calabar pageant will involve 30 beauties from African countries.

The countries are Rwanda, Uganda, Ghana, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Botswana.

Other countries are Togo, Somalia, Lesotho, Namibia, Mauritania, Cameroon, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tunisia, Swaziland, South Africa, Somalia, Liberia, Kenya, Democratic republic of Congo.

Speaking with ‘Daily News’, Nancy said it is a great pleasure to represent the country in Nigeria and she assured Tanzania an impressive performance.

While addressing on this, she promised Tanzanians to compete hard so that she returns home with a trophy.

Similarly, she said that they are continuing with the preparations ahead of the continental level pageant to be conducted a few days from now.

She also asked Tanzanians to pray for her so that  she can win the trophy for her country.

Additionally, she has commended the Minister for Culture, Arts and Sports Mohammed Mchengerwa and the National Arts Council Executive Secretary Kedmon Mapana  for supporting artistic works.

Recently the National Arts Council Executive Secretary applauded the fashionist for being selected to represent the country.

He also urged the models to consider moral issues, especially in matters of dressing codes, to use good language when contesting for a trophy.

Moreover, he said they will continue to support the efforts done by President Samia Suluhu Hassan in promoting the works of artists in the country.

He added that this will help them to become financially independent and boost the national income.

He noted it will also be a great opportunity for the artist to promote the country’s tourism and that will bring prosperity to the sector.

”It is a great opportunity for the artist to hoist the national flag and I believe that she will return with the trophy as well as promote Tanzanian tourism effectively,” he added.
