Mkuyu real estate company taps just-concluded Russia-Africa Summit opportunities

MOSCOW: TANZANIAN real estate company MKUYU Africa is seeking to translate opportunities emerging from the just-concluded Third Russia-Africa Summit into investment partnerships, technology transfer and business expansion in the country’s construction and property development sector.

The company’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Juneid Othman, said participation in the international engagement has provided valuable opportunities to interact with potential investors, exchange business experiences and explore partnerships that could accelerate the growth of Tanzania’s real estate industry.

He said the summit and the Tanzania-Russia Business Forum, held on the sidelines of the high-level meeting in Moscow, had opened new avenues for Tanzanian entrepreneurs to connect with international business players and explore investment opportunities.

Mr Juneid was among Tanzanian business representatives who participated in the forum, which focused on strengthening economic relations between Tanzania and Russia, particularly in energy, agriculture, mining, construction and infrastructure development.

He commended the government for creating opportunities for young entrepreneurs and business representatives to participate in international engagements through the coordination of the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF).

He said such platforms enabled local entrepreneurs to acquire knowledge, explore emerging technologies and establish relationships with investors and business partners from different countries.

“Through these engagements, we have gained valuable insights into how technology can be used to grow businesses, while establishing networks with potential partners and investors who could bring capital and investment opportunities to Tanzania,” he said.

He added that translating the connections into practical business partnerships could stimulate economic activities, create employment opportunities and improve people’s livelihoods.

The participation also comes as MKUYU Africa seeks to strengthen its position in East Africa’s construction industry through the development of modern residential and commercial properties supported by contemporary infrastructure.
According to him, the company aims to promote modern urban developments through innovative architectural designs, advanced construction technologies and partnerships with experienced investors.

He said international cooperation would be important in mobilising the capital, expertise and technological solutions required to deliver large-scale property developments.

Mr Juneid noted that Tanzania’s expanding urban population and growing demand for residential and commercial properties presented opportunities for investors willing to embrace innovation and quality standards.

He said MKUYU Africa’s ambition was to contribute to the development of modern Tanzanian cities with urban environments comparable to leading international destinations such as Dubai.

Through the Tanzania Brokers Association Board (TBAB), he has also been associated with efforts to promote professionalism, transparency and improved standards in the real estate brokerage industry.

His remarks come against the backdrop of Prime Minister Dr Mwigulu Nchemba’s call on Tanzanians, particularly young people and business professionals, to embrace patriotism and use knowledge, skills and opportunities acquired through international engagements to advance national development.

Dr Mwigulu made the appeal in Moscow, where he represented President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan at the Third Russia-Africa Summit of Heads of State and Government.

During the visit, the Prime Minister met Tanzanian business representatives who attended the Tanzania-Russia Business Forum and encouraged them to translate the knowledge, technologies and partnerships gained into practical contributions to the country’s economic and technological development.

He also challenged young people to build their capacity for economic self-reliance rather than depending solely on formal employment, emphasising their role in driving national economic transformation.
