Minister Kairuki tables 9.1tri/- for 2023/24 spending plan

The Ministry of State in the President’s Office, Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG) has tabled a 9.1tr/- budget proposal for the 2023/24 fiscal year for the implementation of various development projects.

Presenting the budget estimates before the Parliamentarians in Dodoma, Friday the docket’s Minister, Angelah Kairuki said out of requested amount, approval 5.7tr/- is for recurrent and 1.06tr/- for other expenditures.
Additionally, she said a total of 3.5tr/- is for development projects.

Explaining sources of development project revenues, the Minister said 2.4tr/- is from domestic revenues and remaining 1.12tr/- from external funding.

However, Ms Angelah mentioned various activities intended to be implemented by the ministry in the year 2023/24 which includes, programmes to strengthen regions and local government authorities which is estimated to cost 7.86bn/-, the monitoring and evaluation project (4.40bn/-), environmental sanitation projects (1.07bn/-) and improvement of primary school learning programme (20.25bn/-).
