Mashujaa FC eye for strong first-round finish

DODOMA: MASHUJAA FC have ramped up preparations as they target a strong finish to the first round of the Tanzania Mainland Premier League.

Assistant Coach Charles Fred said the coaching staff has put in place special plans to ensure the team secures positive results in the remaining first-round fixtures that he believes are crucial in shaping the club’s overall season ambitions.

Speaking during a training session, Coach Fred admitted that Mashujaa struggled to post convincing results in some of their recent home matches before the break, a situation that forced the technical bench to reassess the team’s performance and address identified weaknesses.

“The league had been paused to allow Taifa Stars to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals held in Morocco, while a number of clubs were also involved in the Mapinduzi Cup that has been concluded in Zanzibar.

“We did not perform to our expectations in some of our home games.”

learning experience for the team because it highlighted both our strengths and weaknesses.

“We have been focusing on improving our coordination, fitness, and tactical approach during training. The players have shown great commitment and determination to bounce back stronger. Moving forward, we are confident that these adjustments will help us achieve better results and compete more effectively in the upcoming matches,”

“At this stage, the players are technically and tactically prepared. They are mentally ready to compete, and their hunger to perform well and restore the team to the right path is very high,” he noted.

Fred added that the technical bench plans to organise friendly matches to fine-tune different departments of the squad, ensuring better balance and consistency before competitive fixtures resume.
