“I strongly believe that this great success stems from the positive collaboration among you, Honorable Councillors, Council staff, leaders, and various stakeholders. I urge you to continue strengthening this cooperation to ensure the Council continues to receive clean audit reports every year,” emphasized Mr Ntikahela.

He further urged the Council to ensure that all outstanding audit queries are responded to so they can be verified and closed, in accordance with laws, regulations, procedures, and government directives.

He also recommended including audit queries as a permanent agenda item in formal meetings to prevent the accumulation of unresolved issues.

Speaking on his part, the Resident Auditor for Dodoma Region, Mr Karim Mwinyimbegu, praised the Council for its discussion of the submitted queries and its achievement in obtaining a clean audit report.

He noted with satisfaction that 55 percent of the raised audit queries have been addressed, which is a commendable rate.

He also advised the Management to work closely with auditors not only to respond to current-year queries but also to follow up on previous years’ issues, as new audits also assess past queries, potentially increasing the number of outstanding issues.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of Kondoa Town Council, Mohamed Kiberenge, stated that the Council is committed to addressing past queries and that those within the Council’s capacity will be resolved within the remaining timeframe.

He also commended the Council Director for the effective pace in responding to audit queries.

Earlier, while presenting the CAG report, the Council Treasurer, Mr Kabengwe Lufundolama, stated that during the financial year, the Kondoa Town Council had 22 queries raised by the CAG.

Out of these, 3 have been recommended for closure, while 19 are at various stages of implementation. Additionally, from previous years, there were 73 queries, 51 have been responded to and recommended for closure, while 22 remain at various implementation stages.
