DODOMA: Auditors from the National Audit Office of Tanzania (NAOT) have been urged to keep pace with evolving international audit standards in public financial reporting.
Deputy Auditor General – Central Government, Wendy Massoy, who represented the Controller and Auditor General (CAG) at the event, offered the advice on Wednesday during the opening of a five-day workshop conducted by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) in Dodoma.
The workshop is designed to enhance professionalism among NAOT staff by ensuring they align with evolving standards in their audits.

She noted that Tanzania is performing well in public financial management, ranking first alongside Nigeria in adopting the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSASs) for public financial reporting, according to the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).
The workshop covers key topics, including audit standards, ethical public financial reporting, the adoption of new sustainability standards, and technological advancements in accounting.
