MULEBA District Commissioner (DC) Dr Abel Nyamahanga has appealed for joint efforts from citizens to ensure that killings of innocent people are brought to an end.
Equally, he called upon religious leaders to preach to their followers on the importance of the rule of law and to respect the teachings of God.
He made the remarks recently, when he made a courtesy call to the retired Roman Catholic Bishop Desiderius Rwoma, at Kagondo Parish of Muleba District.
“It is unfortunate that Muleba District is leading in recording killings. This trend is very appalling, while joint efforts from citizens are needed to ensure that killings of innocent people are brough to an end,” he said.
He explained that religious leaders have a noble duty to educate their followers to abide by the rule of law and they should avoid taking the law in their own hands.
