JK joins former heads of state in training to ministers at Harvard University

BOSTON: THE former Tanzanian President, Jakaya Kikwete is in Boston serving as a facilitator at the prestigious Harvard Ministerial Leadership Program run by Harvard University.
Dr Kikwete is among a select group of former heads of state delivering training to ministers including finance and planning ministers from developing countries, as part of efforts to strengthen leadership, policy-making and economic governance.
The programme also brings together global experts, including leaders of international institutions, private sector executives and specialists in policy, economics and development from across the world.

Tanzania is represented at the training by Finance Minister Khamis Mussa Omar, Minister of State in the President’s Office – Planning and Investment, Kitila Mkumbo, and Zanzibar’s Minister of Finance and Planning, Juma Malik Akil.
The programme is designed to equip senior government leaders with practical skills and insights to navigate complex economic challenges and drive sustainable development in their respective countries.
