India’s ITEC initiative benefits 1000 Tanzanians

DAR ES SALAAM: India and Tanzania’s education cooperation continues to yield fruits in Tanzania as over 1000 Tanzanian youth have so far benefited from the ITEC programme.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Water, Mwajuma Waziri, has acknowledged the strong bilateral relations between Tanzania and India through the ITEC training program involving both civilian and defense personnel.

Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) is a capacity building that specializes in empowering young men and women in technical and economic issues.

She made these remarks in Dar es Salaam this weekend as she highlighted the efforts made by the President of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, to empower young Tanzanians with proper technical training.

According to her, a total of 1,000 Tanzanians have already benefited from the training offered through the ITEC programme.

“We hail the High Commission of India and the government of Tanzania for their cooperation, which has led to the program to benefit a big number of our citizens. This capacity-building initiative is founded on transparency and a genuine desire to share knowledge,” she said.

She also encouraged Tanzanians to participate in the upcoming programmes to gain valuable experience and skills

On his part the High Commissioner of India Mr Bishwadip Dey, said he is delighted for cooperation made by India and anzania saying the cooperation ties lead to make a huge development in Tanzania.
