LECTURERS and graduates from different higher learning institutions have been advised to conduct various researches and studies that will help achieve development goals and prepare long-term and short-term training programmes.
Minister of State, President’s Office (Constitution, Legal Affairs, Public Servants and Good Governance, Mr Haroun Ali Suleiman gave this advice in his speech at the 15th graduation of the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) here.
Speaking and on behalf of Mr Haroun, the Minister of State (Regional Administration, Local Government and Special Units) Mr Masoud Mohamed Ali underlined on research and training that will lead the government or country to have better employees to standard services
At the ceremony that was held at Dr Ali Mohammed Shein Multipurpose Hall, Mr Ali handed over certificates to 799 graduates in different categories.
He said that the nation still needs employees with expertise and skills to keep up with the changes in technology and various development challenges that are happening in the world.
In his speech minister Haroun, asked the graduates who have been employed in the public service to make good use of the skills and knowledge acquired to effectively deliver.
“All graduates including those who have not secured jobs must shun corruption and unethical conducts. You must as well consider keeping upgrading in order to bring about changes in performance of your duties,” he said.
He commended the government led by President Dr Hussein Mwinyi, for taking various measures in improving welfare of the civil servants.
The Chairperson of the IPA Council Ms Fatma Said Ali, said that the college is growing and that they are continuing to find various ways to implement the construction of administration block, dispensary, and Mosque by soliciting funds from some banks.
The Principal of the College Mr Shaaban Mwinchum Suleiman said the college has more than 1566 students training at various levels, among them 558 are civil servants.
In addition, he said that in the period from December 2021 to October 2022, the college has provided training to 1859 civil servants.
