GEITA: THE Tanzania Police Force, through the Community Policing Commission, has called on residents in Geita Region to actively engage in community policing initiatives aimed at protecting national resources and investor infrastructure for the broader benefit of the nation.
This message was delivered by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Elisante Ulomi, who is also an official from the Community Policing Commission, during a public meeting held with residents of Nyakabale in the Geita Municipal Council.
The meeting was part of a 14-day campaign focused on promoting awareness and education on community policing in Geita.
The campaign is organized by the Police Force in collaboration with Geita Gold Mining Limited (GGML).
ACP Ulomi stated that the Tanzanian government has established investor-friendly policies, laws, and regulations to ensure the communities benefit from the country’s natural resources. He emphasized that collaboration with the community is essential to achieving national development goals.

“It is the responsibility of every Tanzanian to create a conducive environment for both local and foreign investors, as they contribute to economic growth through taxes, business, and job creation,” said ACP Ulomi.
He further urged the people of Nyakabale and the greater Geita Region to refrain from invading investor-owned land, warning that such actions can disrupt investment activities and lead to unnecessary conflicts.
On his part, Superintendent of Police from the Community Policing Commission Headquarters in Dodoma, Dr. Ezekiel Kyogo, noted that the Police Force has reinforced its community policing strategy to help curb crime in various parts of the country.
“It is our collective duty to protect our communities. Local government leaders have a responsibility to ensure the safety of their areas. It is crucial to come together and address the challenges facing the community,” added Dr. Kyogo.
The campaign continues across various areas in Geita Region to strengthen cooperation between the residents, investors, and security agencies in building a secure environment that supports both social and economic development.
