General Elections fever hits regions across Tanzania

DAR ES SALAAM: GENERAL Elections fever has begun to grip young aspirants countrywide heading to the polls in October this year.

One of the youthful aspirants, Salum Kwasha has declared intent to run for Kahama town constituency saying Tanzania needs young blood to take a leadership helm.
Prior to his declaration, Kwasha served as as the Chairman UVCCM Senate for Colleges and Universities in Dodoma Region also serves as the Secretary of the UVCCM Branch in Dodoma.
Speaking to reporters today, June 18th, 2025 in Dar es Salaam, Salum emphasized his commitment to serving the people and safeguarding Tanzania’s long-standing peace and stability.
According to Tanzania’s National Electoral Commission (NEC), any citizen seeking to run for a parliamentary seat must be at least 21 years old, a Tanzanian by birth, and have completed at least secondary education.
Salum, who meets all the legal and ethical requirements, is seen as part of a new generation of leaders aiming to bring fresh energy and ideas into the political landscape.
