Future Technologies Festival Opens in Dar es Salaam

DAR ES SALAAM: The grand opening of the large-scale educational festival — Robotics and Innovative Educational Technologies Days — was held today at the National Institute of Transport in Dar es Salaam.
The event is organized by SODRUZHESTVO Joint Venture LLC with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo (Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation), and partners: 1T IT Company, Saint Petersburg State Marine Technical University, N. I. Vavilov Saratov State University of Genetics, Biotechnology, and Engineering, Center for Agricultural Robotics and VR/AR Technologies, and Rubezh LLC.
The festival welcomes students, teachers, schoolchildren, and anyone interested in Russian education. Among the highlights of the program are a robotics exhibition; hands-on workshops on building robots, developing computer games, and designing VR environments; gaming tournaments; a tech-themed quiz; and career guidance sessions. Six Russian experts will be interacting directly with participants, sharing their knowledge and experience throughout the event.

Distinguished guests attended the opening ceremony: Eng. Dr. Prosper Mgaya, Rector of the National Institute of Transport; Alexander Evstigneev, Head of the Russian House; and directors of leading educational institutions in the city.
The festival will run through December 7 and will take place across three venues: the National Institute of Transport (December 4), Alpha High School (December 5), and the Russian House (December 6–7). Earlier, from November 17 to 19, the festival was successfully held in Port Louis, Mauritius.
“Robotics and Virtual Reality are no longer concepts of science fiction; they are transformative technologies reshaping industries worldwide. This event provides our students with a unique opportunity to witness firsthand the practical applications of robotics and virtual reality and opens new avenues for cooperation in education, research, and innovation between Tanzania and the Russian Federation,” said Eng. Dr. Prosper Mgaya, Rector of the National Institute of Transport, Dar es Salaam.

“I want to stress one thing: our event today may look like a game, but it’s not a game. Robotics, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and coding are our future, and we should teach them, we should study them. We are very happy to have the opportunity to share our knowledge with you. I also want to reassure you that this will improve relations between our countries, and I hope you find it interesting today,” stated Alexander Evstigneev, Head of the Russian House.
All festival events are free to attend. The full program and registration details are available on the official website: vr-tzmu.ru
