Fountain Gate challenge Simba Queens’ helm

SIMBA Queens and Fountain Gate Princess race neck to neck in the ongoing Women’s Premier League as each has accumulated 26 points from 11 matches.

The two teams are separated by goal difference at the top of the pile as Simba Queens have scored 31 goals against 21 goals netted by Fountain Gate Princess, thus making the title race quite interesting.

When it comes to shaking opponent nets, the Msimbazi Street Queens are unstoppable and in their recent game, they defeated Tigers Queens 7-0 at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Likewise, Fountain Gate Princess hammered Amani Queens 4-1 at Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma to clinch vital points as they too are keen to win the championship at the end of the marathon.

On third place are JKT Queens who enjoy 25 points from 11 games and until now, they are the only team yet to suffer a defeat in the contest.

They claimed maximum points courtesy of a 2-0 victory against Alliance Girls at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium in Dar es Salaam, a venue they usually capitalise on well whenever they host a league match.

However, the going is tough for Yanga Princess as they were held to a barren draw by Mkwawa Queens in their recent encounter which was their third draw of the season.

They are now 6 points inferior to the leaders Simba Queens as the gap continues to widen among the two teams despite Yanga Princess inserting many new foreign imports into their squad.
