DAR ES SALAAM: FANS witnessed an exhilarating night of cricket on Wednesday enjoying three intense quarterfinal matches in the ongoing 8-side Night Patel Cricket Tournament.
FLTC outclass Cricket Gunners in the first match, showcased their dominance, defeating their opponents by six-wickets at the Patel Brotherhood ground in Dar es Salaam.
Batting first, Cricket Gunners managed 63 runs in their 8-over innings. Shobhit Sharma stood out with an impressive 39 runs, while Praveen Yadav contributed 11.
However, their efforts were insufficient to set a challenging target. In response, FLTC chased down the total with ease, scoring 65 runs.
Pranthamesh Chavan led the charge with 23 runs, supported by Kamran Kazi (17) and Asif Butt (13). Hitech Sai overcame Pak Star A in the second match, Ali Shaib delivered a stellar performance for Hitech Sai, scoring 51 runs, while Vikesh Kerai added 18 runs. Batting first, Hitech Sai posted a strong total of 82 runs in their 8 overs.
Pak Star A struggled in their chase, managing only 59 runs as Hitech Sai secured a comfortable 23- run victory to advance to the semifinals.

The final quarterfinal match saw Flashnet Cric Pranthanz deliver a commanding performance, defeating SSS by 58 runs. Batting first, Flashnet Cric Pranthanz posted an impressive 118 runs, thanks to a remarkable 75 runs by Shijil Aravind and a supporting 14 runs from Abijith.
In their chase, SSS players Ehshan E (22 runs) and Abishek Rathod (12 runs) tried to steady the innings, but the team could only manage 58 runs, falling significantly short of the target.
The first quarterfinal, held on Tuesday, saw Unity A secure their place in the semi-finals with a dominant performance against the Lions. The Lions batted first, scoring 44 runs in 8 overs.
Unity A chased down the target with ease, reaching 50 runs with the loss of just one wicket, sealing a 9-wicket victory. Tournament coordinator Vishal Patel told the ‘Daily News’ that Unity A would face FLTC, while Hitech Sai would take on Flashnet Cric Pranthanz in the semi-finals, which were scheduled for Thursday night.
The tournament, which began in September, is set to conclude today with medals and prizes for the winners.
