Flashnet Aces roar past Lions in cricket

DAR ES SALAAM: FLASHNET Aces cruised to a commanding 91-run victory over Park Mobile Lions in Saturday’s TCA Caravans T20 Cup encounter at Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club Oval.
Batting first, Flashnet Aces posted an imposing total of 177 for 6 from their allotted 20 overs.
The innings was anchored by captain Abhishek Kumar, who top-scored with a composed 58 off 42 balls, including seven boundaries. Kumar’s knock stabilised the innings after early hiccups and allowed the middle order to accelerate in the latter overs.
Contributions from Kashif Anwar (22 off 17), Prathamesh Chavan (29 off 26) and a late flourish from Salum Jumbe (23 off 14) bolstered the total.
Despite a few wickets falling at regular intervals, the Aces maintained a healthy scoring rate, aided by 17 wides conceded by the Lions’ bowlers.
In reply, Park Mobile Lions struggled from the outset and could only muster 86 for 9 in their full quota of 20 overs. The disciplined bowling attack from Flashnet Aces, coupled with tight fielding, stifled the Lions’ run chase.
Wickets fell at regular intervals and none of the batters managed to build a meaningful innings. The bowlers shared the spoils, maintaining consistent pressure, as no Lions batsman crossed the 20-run mark.
The 91-run margin reflects both the Aces’ clinical bowling effort and the Lions’ inability to build partnerships or gain any momentum. Earlier with the ball, Anmol Yadav stood out for the Lions, claiming 2 for 26 in his four overs.

He was supported by Suraj Pala (1 for 19) and Mohamad Jawed (1 for 26), but the bowling unit struggled to contain the Aces’ middle-order surge.
The TCA Caravans T20 Cup 2025 was officially bowled off, bringing together eight competitive teams for what promises to be an electrifying season of cricket.
The tournament, which commenced on Saturday, 28 June, features a round-robin format and will run through to 10 August 2025.
This year’s contenders include Alliance Caravans, Aurobindo AKSC, Flashnet Aces, Harab Motors Pak Stars, Jiuzhou Patel Samaj, KX Intek Gymkhana, Park Mobile Lions and RAAH Upanga.
Each team will face the others once in the group stage, with the top sides advancing towards the knockout rounds.
All matches are being staged at the historic Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club, offering a fitting venue for highquality action and community engagement.
