Finance Ministries provide humanitarian aid to 38 women and 44 children in Dodoma

DODOMA: 38 women in the maternity ward and 44 children under the age of five in the pediatric ward benefited from the assistance provided by the Ministry of Finance in collaboration with the Zanzibar Ministry of Finance and Planning.

This came as continued efforts to strengthen its long-standing partnership through various social initiatives, including providing support to vulnerable groups, particularly patients.

This collaboration is also implemented through the ministries’ sports clubs, which have established an annual tradition of meeting during a sports bonanza, alongside conducting outreach visits to assist those in need by providing essential items such as food, beverages, soap, and other necessities.

This year, staff from the two ministries visited patients at the Dodoma Regional Hospital, where they donated various essential supplies, including body oils, soap, and other items for patient use.

Speaking after handing over the donations, the Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Zanzibar Ministry of Finance and Planning, Rajabu Weje Yakubu, said on behalf of both ministries that they visited the women’s and children’s wards, offering support to admitted mothers and children.

He noted that a total of 38 women in the maternity ward and 44 children under the age of five in the pediatric ward benefited from the assistance.

On his part, speaking on behalf of the hospital management, Senior Human Resources Officer from the Ministry of Finance, Salum Said, stated that the ministries will continue this annual initiative as part of Easter celebrations, emphasizing its importance in strengthening both professional and social relations.

He added that it has become a tradition for the two ministries to exchange visits during the Easter period, noting that last year they visited Zanzibar, while this year Zanzibar officials visited mainland Tanzania, reinforcing a long-standing institutional partnership.
