Education Expo opens doors for overseas study opportunities

ARUSHA: MORE than 100 young people from the Northern Zone have participated in an international education expo organised by Global Education Link in Arusha, aimed at providing accurate information on study opportunities, admissions and scholarships at universities abroad.

Speaking during the expo, Global Education Link Arusha Branch Manager, Hamad Juma Athuman, said the institution brought representatives from various universities around the world, including India, Malaysia, the United Kingdom (UK), China and other countries, to provide students and parents with academic guidance and reliable information on higher education opportunities.

He said the main objective of the expo was to connect young people with international education opportunities and help them make informed decisions when choosing courses based on labour market demands locally and globally.

“What we have brought are opportunities offered by different universities. Students receive academic guidance on course selection, tuition fees, living costs and all procedures involved in travelling abroad for studies,” he said.

Athuman said students were also informed about scholarship opportunities ranging from 50 per cent to 100 percent in various fields, including Engineering, Business, Arts and Health Sciences.

He said one of the major challenges facing young people who wish to study abroad is the lack of reliable information on admission procedures, scholarships and travel requirements.

Athuman added that Global Education Link has been providing international education consultancy services for more than 19 years and has helped many Tanzanians access higher education opportunities in foreign universities, with some now working in both public and private sectors.

Meanwhile, SRM University’s International Admissions General Manager in India

Vikas Bhardwaj, encouraged Tanzanian students to take advantage of scholarship opportunities offered by the institution.

He said SRM University provides more than 80 per cent scholarships for undergraduate programmes and 100 per cent scholarships for MTech and PhD programmes. He added that the university offers courses in Engineering, Technology, Business and Sciences.

CT University representative from India, Gaurav Sharma, said the institution, in collaboration with Global Education Link, has continued to provide Tanzanian students with opportunities to study in India for more than 10 years.

He said the university offers scholarships of up to 50 per cent for Diploma, Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD programmes.

Sharma said CT University has students from more than 40 countries, provides a safe learning environment and offers practical training to prepare graduates for the global job market.

A student from Arusha, Ebeneza Mollel, said she secured an opportunity to study in India through Global Education Link after receiving step-by-step guidance throughout the admission process.

He said education exhibitions of this nature are important because they help students gain proper understanding of available opportunities abroad.

“After completing Form Six, I faced challenges choosing the right academic path, but through this exhibition I have gained a clearer understanding and direction,” he said.

Ebeneza is expected to join Lovely Professional University in India, where she will pursue Business Administration with a focus on Digital Marketing and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
