DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA women’s national team, Twiga Stars, is getting ready for an international friendly match against the Mali women’s national team at the Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam today.
Before today’s match, Twiga Stars Head Coach Bakari Shime said he expected a tough match against Mali and stressed the importance of early preparation.
He said friendly games help build team coordination that makes a difference when they play in different continental and global tournaments.
“We have observed how Mali play, and we will try to ensure that we match their style of play and have a significant share of ball possession for most of the game,” he said.
Shime also stressed the importance of the team’s continued preparation to ensure they perform well and strengthen themselves as a national team.
The Twiga Stars will aim to replicate the level of intensity and focus that led them to a triumphant 3-0 victory against South Sudan on Wednesday.
The match showcased not only the Twiga Stars’ prowess on the field but also their determination to conquer formidable opponents.

Tanzanian internationals Aisha Mashaka and Opa Clement played crucial roles in securing the victory against South Sudan by scoring important goals.
The squad that featured in their game against South Sudan included Nawal Isaac in goal, Fatuma Omer, Amy lasu Lauya, Dorka Gerald, Sumaya Malili, Adayi Hatima, Nakirijja Annet, Diana Paul, Mary Dawa, Alworonga Debora, and Amun Kenneth.
On the substitute bench were Khalda Hassan, Esther Roba, Modong Jeska, Amama Issa, Jojo Luis, Stella Chaplan, Hariet Dusman, Mary Anger, and Asunta Emmanuel.
