Dr Samia appoints Ummy Mwalimu as her advisor on health, social welfare, women, and children
DODOMA: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed former Minister for Health, Ummy Mwalimu as her Special Advisor on health, social welfare, women, and children.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, by the Chief Secretary, Ambassador Moses Kusiluka, through the Directorate of Presidential Communications at State House, her appointment begins with immediate effect.

Ummy Mwalimu is a seasoned politician with extensive experience in public service.
In her political career, she began as a Special Seats Member of Parliament in 2010 before going on to hold various senior government positions, including serving as Minister for Health.
