Dr Bashiru claims youth, women key to Samia’s another 5-year term

TABORA: Former CCM Secretary General, Dr Bashiru Ali, has said that seeing how most youth and women turn out to CCM’s Presidential candidate, Samia Suluhu Hassan’s campaigns, there is no doubt that she is going to win in the upcoming General election.

Speaking in Tabora on Wednesday, Dr Bashiru said that during Dr Samia’s four years of leadership, CCM’s affiliated organizations have been greatly strengthened, leading to a significant increase in the party’s membership.

Elaborating, the former Secretary General said that for many years, voter turnout has been very low, but seeing the ongoing turnout in the campaigns, he is confident that since women are motivated and the youth are energized, there is a strong possibility of reaching more than 90 percent voter turnout this year.

“There is no doubt about this because according to our country’s statistics, youth and women are the majority,” he said.

Moreover, Dr Bashiru noted that another assurance he has is due to the strong response and great success achieved by the party in implementing development activities.
