Dodoma moves to improve schools infrastructure for increasing number of students
DODOMA: THE Dodoma District Commissioner, Jabir Shekimweri, has assured the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office for Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG), Professor Riziki Shemdoe, that his office will continue to closely oversee the implementation of all government directives.
He emphasized that priority will be placed on preparations to receive Standard Six and Standard Seven students who are expected to graduate simultaneously in 2027.
Speaking on the preparations, Shekimweri stated that progress is on track, with efforts focused on improving educational infrastructure and essential services to accommodate the anticipated increase in student numbers. He noted that strong oversight mechanisms will remain in place to ensure any emerging challenges are addressed early.

He further highlighted the importance of collaboration between the government, education stakeholders, and the wider community in achieving this objective. According to him, these preparations require coordinated efforts to ensure the education system is adequately equipped to absorb the surge in student enrollment without compromising quality.
Shekimweri made these remarks on March 6, 2026, in Dodoma city while delivering the city’s address during an Education Stakeholders’ Meeting, where Professor Riziki Shemdoe, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office – TAMISEMI, attended as the guest of honor.
