Dar es Salaam braces for the governance professionals forum

DAR ES SALAAM: BENEFICIARIES of the Annual Company Secretaries Round Table are expected to walk away with insights on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategies for handling pressure in the boardroom.
This impactful forum is scheduled on Friday, February 6, 2026, in Dar es Salaam, will be attended by company secretaries, board secretaries, and governance professionals, all seeking to navigate the evolving landscape of corporate compliance, ethics, and strategic leadership.
In her media briefing in the city today, February 5, 2026, the forum Convener Ms Janeth Edson, also among the key speakers, clarified that many things will be discussed on the day.
“We have organized this event to create a forum where governance professionals can meet and share experiences on the untapped potential that company secretaries have.
“It is poised to be a pivotal forum for exposing the indispensable role of company secretaries and general counsels in navigating the complexities of modern corporate governance.

“Furthermore, it aims to comprehensively dissect and strategically address the dynamic evolution of corporate governance, with a sharp focus on proactively identifying and mitigating emergent governance risks, harnessing the transformative power of ESG performance,” she said.
According to her, the forum will also be used as a convenient platform to engage with peers, share insights, and collaboratively explore solutions to complex governance issues facing corporates.
“Participants should expect dynamic discussions, actionable takeaways, and the chance to forge valuable connections that will empower their professional journey….and we aim to continue holding a series of these conferences, and we expect the next edition to be held in November this year,” she said.
The forum will unfold under the theme ‘Governance Re-Imagined: The Evolving Role of a Company Secretary,’ with Ms Janeth, Jay Atara, and Lucia Minde operating as main speakers.
