DAR ES SALAAM: Motorcycle stakeholders in the country have every reason to smile as new affordable motorcycles have been launched in Dar es Salaam.
Launching the Daima and Everlast motorcycles at TCC Club in Chang’ombe, Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner Albert Chalamila, who was represented by the Temeke District Commissioner, Sixtus Mapunda, hailed Alternative Solution Limited Company, the distributor of the motorcycles for bringing to Tanzanians quality products.
“It is really nice to see Tanzanians looking for solutions to this transportation sector as motorcycles are used everywhere in the country to facilitate public transport and the transportation of cargo from one place to the other,” he said.
He called on motorcycle users, especially motorcyclists, to adhere to the Road Traffic Act and consider the correct use of motorcycles as recommended by experts so that they last for a long time. “We have experts here today, let us listen to them so that these motorcycles are properly used to reduce road accidents,” he said.
He called on various financial organisations to enter into an agreement with Alternative Solution Limited to ensure many motorcyclists are empowered to own motorcycles, using a user-friendly procedure.
According to Mr Chalamila the City of Dar es Salaam has started a programme of working 24 hours per day, saying motorcycles as a form of transport preferred by many people, are very instrumental in this programme.
“The launch of this event has come at the right time when this form of transport is needed,” he said.
For his part, Alternative Solution Limited Director Ruge Chacha said their company conducted an in-depth study to find out the needs of Tanzanians, especially the users of motorcycles and the challenges facing them before importing them.
He said Daima and Everlast motorcycles had more advantages compared to other motorcycles, including having enough space for the rider and a passenger, but
also for luggage, a place for keeping and charging a mobile phone, a holder of a water bottle on the right side of the motorcycle and lights suitable during rains and during darkness.
Mr Chacha pointed out that motorcycles had durable tires that made it possible to carry passengers and heavy luggage without any problem because they have a special carrier for luggage while other motorcycles do not have.
On her part the Temeke Member of Parliament, Dorothy Kilave pledged her support to boda boda riders due to their importance to the community.
The launch was attended by more than 300 stakeholders in the transportation sector, especially bodabodas and some of them had an opportunity to test them and ask questions about those new motorcycles.
Daima and Everlast motorcycles will be distributed throughout the country through different agents.
They provide a world of health solutions.
