DAR ES SALAAM: ALL is set for the second Cricket Reunion Legends Tour, with Group Lead Administrator, Kanu Rathod arriving in Dar es Salaam today for the final preparations.

The highly anticipated event will bring together cricket legends from both abroad and Tanzania and is scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam and Bagamoyo from October 25th to 27th.

Rathod, based in Birmingham in the UK, confirmed to the ‘Sunday News’ yesterday that he will arrive five days ahead of the tour to ensure everything need is in place.

He expressed his satisfaction with the preparations, saying the organising teams, both locally and internationally, have worked hard to ensure the event runs smoothly.

“The preparations are going well and I’m grateful for the efforts put in by everyone involved. I look forward to meeting the legends, many of whom I haven’t seen in a long time,” Rathod said.

He also praised the legends for their commitment to the tour, which aims to promote the game of cricket, as well as boost tourism and spread goodwill.

The organising team in Tanzania, led by cricket legend Bashir Tejani and Dinesh Vaishnav, senior administrator of the Reunion, has been working tirelessly to ensure the event is a success.

Vaishnav confirmed that Rathod is expected to arrive today, while several other legends from abroad have already landed in Dar es Salaam in readiness for the tour.

“The first cricket legend to arrive in Dar es Salaam was Satish Solanki, followed by Pranlal Divecha. Group Lead Rathod will touch down tomorrow at around 2 pm. The cricket festival is about to begin,” said Vaishnav.

The Reunion Tour follows the success of the inaugural event in 2022, when legends from abroad and Tanzania reunited for a special festival held in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar.

Building on the success of last year’s Tanzania Veterans Cricketers’ Reunion, this year’s tour aims to bring together veterans and youth, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and encouraging the growth of cricket in the country.
