CRDB Bank recorded 206bn/- profit, hitting annual 18.9 percent increase

DAR ES SALAAM:  CRDB Bank has continued to demonstrate strong resilience and consistent financial growth, according to its first-quarter 2026 financial results, which highlight the Bank’s position as a leader in profitability within the financial sector.

The Bank recorded a Profit After Tax of 206wbn/- , marking an 18.9 percent increase compared to the same period last year. This solid performance underscores CRDB’s ability to navigate economic dynamics while maintaining a steady upward trajectory.

Across key financial and operational indicators, CRDB emerged as a top performer. The Bank’s total assets grew by 7.1 percent to reach  23.9tri/-, reflecting sustained expansion in its operations. Loans and advances to customers also rose by 6.8 percent to  14.7tri/-, signaling continued support for businesses and individuals. Meanwhile, customer deposits increased by 9 percent to 16.3tri/-, demonstrating strong customer confidence and trust in the institution.

Commenting on the results, Group Chief Executive Officer Abdulmajid Mussa Nsekela attributed the impressive growth to the disciplined execution of the Bank’s long-term business strategy. He emphasized that CRDB’s success is rooted in its commitment to delivering superior value to customers, supporting economic development across its markets, and ensuring sustainable returns for shareholders.

Nsekela further noted that the Bank’s consistent performance reinforces its position as an undisputed market leader in Tanzania’s banking sector, while also highlighting its role as a key driver of economic growth in the region.

As CRDB continues to expand its footprint and strengthen its financial base, the Bank remains focused on innovation, customer-centric services, and long-term sustainability to maintain its competitive edge.
