CRDB Bank partners with Bongo Star Search to create new opportunities for Tanzanian youth

DAR ES SALAAM: CRDB Bank has officially sponsored Tanzania’s talent search competition, Bongo Star Search 2026, which will now be known as CRDB Bank Bongo Star Search 2026.
Speaking during a press conference held at CRDB Bank headquarters in Palm Beach, Dar es Salaam, Madam Rita Poulsen said the bank’s involvement marks a major step in demonstrating how large institutions continue to value and invest in the talents of Tanzanian youth.
“As you know, the arrival of CRDB Bank this season has introduced many major improvements to the competition,” said Madam Rita.
She explained that the 2026 season will feature several new additions, including circus performances, painting, and comedy categories. Contestants will also receive financial literacy training from CRDB Bank professionals.
Meanwhile, CRDB Bank’s Head of Retail Banking, Stephen Adili, said that through the bank’s youth banking platform, “Konekt na CRDB,” the institution aims to empower young people to achieve their dreams through their talents.

“Youth development remains our top priority, and that is exactly what will be implemented through CRDB Bank Bongo Star Search 2026,” said Adili.
The press conference was attended by members of the competition’s judging panel, including Madam Rita, who is also the Director of Bongo Star Search, alongside Master Jay and Coy Mzungu.

This is a smart move by CRDB Bank. Supporting local talent through platforms like Bongo Star Search can really help young Tanzanians turn their creative skills into sustainable careers. I hope they also include some financial literacy workshops for the contestants.
Great to see CRDB Bank backing Bongo Star Search with a wider mix of creative categories and financial literacy support. That kind of partnership can make a real difference for young Tanzanians who are trying to turn raw talent into long-term opportunities. I especially like the focus on practical empowerment, not just exposure.
