COSAFA WOMEN CHAMPIONSHIP: Tanzania knock out Malawi to reach semi-finals

Twiga Stars have succeeded to step into the semifinals of the underway Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Championship courtesy of a 3-1 triumph over Malawi.

The game which transpired at Isaac Wolfson Stadium in South Africa saw the country’s envoys go past their opponents to book a space into the knockout stage.

It was a replica of last season’s COSAFA finals of which Twiga Stars outclassed Malawi 1-0 thereby winning the silverware.

Donisia Minja, Diana Lucas and Opa Clement finished the assignment for their team while the solitary goal for Malawi was netted by Asimenye Simveka in the second half.

The victory was second for Tanzanian side who are searching to defend the championship after clinching it last season and have two boundaries to pass before fulfilling their target.

Tanzania are being featured in the competition as a guest team who are anxious to retain the championship for a second time in a row.
