Commission banks on Nane Nane Exhibition to lure Tanzanians’ participation in mining sector

DODOMA: THE Mining Commission says it is using the 2026 Nane Nane Agricultural Exhibition as a platform to promote investment and increase Tanzanians’ participation in the mining sector by providing education on opportunities available across the entire mineral value chain.

Speaking at the ongoing exhibition at Nzuguni Grounds in Dodoma today, August 3, 2026, the Mining Commission’s Public Relations and Communications Manager, Greyson Mwase, said the Commission aims to reach members of the public, investors and other stakeholders by providing accurate information on activities within the mining sector.

He said the awareness campaign covers investment opportunities in mineral exploration, mining, mineral processing, value addition and mineral trading, while encouraging broader participation by Tanzanians in the sector in compliance with the country’s laws, regulations and established procedures.

Mwase said the Commission is also educating artisanal and large-scale miners, as well as the public, on occupational health and safety practices to reduce mining accidents and improve operational efficiency.

According to him, the education programme emphasizes the proper use of personal protective equipment, environmental conservation, and compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.

He added that the Mining Commission’s exhibition pavilion has been established as an information centre where visitors can learn about the Commission’s services, requirements for obtaining various mining licences, the use of digital systems in service delivery, and the investment opportunities available in Tanzania’s mining industry.

“These exhibitions provide us with an opportunity to engage directly with the public, answer their questions and guide them on how to participate legally and productively in the mining sector for their own benefit and that of the nation,” Mwase said.
