ARUSHA: THE Mainland Premier League action continued yesterday with Coastal Union climbing to sixth place after a 2-1 win over JKT Tanzania at Sheikh Amri Abeid Memorial Stadium in Arusha.
Coastal Union’s victory saw them rise from 11th to 6th position with 21 points, while JKT Tanzania dropped from eighth to ninth position with 19 points.
The match saw Coastal Union take the lead through Bakari Suleiman’s 26th-minute goal and Maabad Maulid sealed the victory in the 68th minute. JKT Tanzania’s lone goal came from an own goal by Coastal Union’s Lameck Lawi in the 64th minute.

In another encounter, Singida BS shared the spoils with Kagera Sugar, drawing 2-2 at CCM Liti Stadium in Singida. At Liti Stadium, Singida BS took an early 1-0 lead in the fifth minute through Jonathan Sowah’s finish, assisted by Hernest Malonga.
Kagera Sugar equalised just before halftime with a header from Salehe Ferous in the 40th minute, after a well-placed cross from Salehe Kambenga.
In the second half, Kagera Sugar took the lead for the first time in the match through Halifa Nolo’s goal in the 57th minute, making it 2-1. However, Singida BS quickly responded with a penalty from Marouf Tchakei (67’) after a foul on Arthur in the box.
Both teams fought hard, but the match ended in a 2-2 draw, with Singida BS remaining in fourth place with 34 points. Kagera Sugar, still struggling near the bottom, sit in 15th place with 12 points.
