CECAFA U18: Tanzania stamp authority

TANZANIA continue to dominate the CECAFA Under-18 Women’s Championship as they cherish an unbeaten run in three matches with 9 points in the bag.

The brave ladies have shifted into top gear in their quest to win the championship hence are approaching each game seriously.

Aside from not losing any match, they have also not conceded in all their three engagements that have seen them scoring six goals to lead the scorer’s chart.

This progress has been cherished by the team’s coach Bakari Shime who strongly believes that if they continue with the same performance, then winning the CECAFA Under-18 title will be an easy task.

“I am excited with the maximum input that these girls are forwarding in each fixture that comes their way, we need to uphold the same spirit throughout the competition,” he said.

However, the matches continue today as Ethiopia host Zanzibar while Uganda entertain Burundi, both encounters to be played at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam.

For Zanzibar, they will be searching first win of the contest after going down in all their opening two matches as they lost 3-0 to Uganda before succumbing to a 1-0 defeat from Tanzania.

Also, Burundi are eyeing their first triumph as they lost 2-0 to Ethiopia and 3-0 to Tanzania hence, it is a vital game for them versus Uganda who are also enjoying the unbeaten run.

The Ugandans have six points from two games as such, a win over Burundi will take them to 9 points, equalling with the hosting nation.

All the matches are being played at Azam Complex in Chamazi where football fans cherish the free entry experience.
