Ceasiaa Queens rise after Chobanka’s arrival

IRINGA: THE newly appointed Ceasiaa Queens head coach, Ezekiel Chobanka, is determined to lead the team to a higher position in the Mainland Women’s League by the end of the season.

Chobanka, who joined Ceasiaa after a successful tenure with Alliance Girls in Mwanza, is focused on replicating his previous success and improving the Iringabased team’s standing.

Chobanka’s tenure has started promisingly, with Ceasiaa Queens securing a 2-0 victory over Mashujaa Queens of Kigoma at CCM Samora Stadium in Iringa. Following this win, the team climbed from secondbottom to seventh in the league, accumulating 10 points and moving up two places.

“This win is a step in the right direction,” Chobanka said after the match. “We are focusing on intensive training, building strength, and instilling discipline in our squad to improve our future performances.”

The victory earned Ceasiaa Queens three valuable points, pushing them further up the table.

Chobanka expressed confidence in his team’s potential, noting that since his arrival, Ceasiaa has remained unbeaten, signalling a strong start under his leadership. “The team is showing great progress, and we are focused on continuing this momentum,” he said.

Looking ahead, the coach highlighted Ceasiaa’s upcoming match against Simba Queens, a team he knows well from his time coaching in Mwanza.

“We are preparing for Simba, and while they are a strong side, we shall be ready to compete at our best,” Chobanka stated.

He also acknowledged the overwhelming support Ceasiaa Queens has received from the local Iringa community, as well as fans from the surrounding regions. He promised that the team is on track to reclaim a top-four position in the National League.

Despite the defeat, Mashujaa Queens’ head coach, Ally Ally, remains optimistic. He described the loss to Ceasiaa as a valuable learning experience for his team.

“It’s a lesson for us. We need to go back to the drawing board, address our mistakes, and come back stronger,” Ally said. Looking ahead to their next match against Yanga Princess, Ally expressed confidence in his team’s ability to bounce back and improve their performance. “We are expecting a better result next time.
