Ceasiaa Queens target top 3 in TWPL second round

IRINGA: AS the Tanzania Women’s Premier League (TPWL) season enters into the second round, the flagbearers of Iringa region, Ceasiaa Queens are targeting to finish in the top three of the league standing.

Ceasiaa Queens are set to face the league leaders Simba Queens of Dar es salaam on March 13th when they kick off their second round league campaign at their home ground Mkwawa in Iringa Municipality.

The team’s Head Coach, Noah Kanyaga believes that despite being left far behind by points by Simba and JKT Queens who are settled in the second slot of the league log, they will ensure that they close the gap during the forthcoming match in Iringa.

Kanyaga said they are determined to fight to see they finish the league among the top three teams and their campaign will kick off in the second round where they are eager to see they get positive and collect maximum points to achieve their goal.

“Though we lost our previous match against JKT Queens in the closing of the first round of the league, that served as a lesson to help us correct the mistakes,” said Coach Kanyaga.

Currently, the Iringa ladies are in the rather respectable fourth place in the ongoing league with 16 points and are targeting the campaign by earning vital points when they host Simba Queens at their home ground Mkwawa.

A win will see the Ceasiaa Queens collecting 19 points reducing the point gap with leaders Simba as well going into the top three.

There are a total of 10 teams participating in the league, with the Simba Queens leading the pack with 25 points followed by JKT Queens in the second position with 19 points, while in the third slot, there are Yanga Princess also based in Dar es salaam with 18 points.

At the fourth slot are the Ceasiaa Queens (16 points), while coming fifth are the Fountain Gates Princess of Dodoma with 11 points, Amani Queens from Lindi, in the Southern parts of the country are slotted at number six having so far amassed ten points.
