CCM shows Dr Nchimbi exit door, terminates his membership

DAR ES SALAAM: THE ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has expelled former Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi, from the party.

CCM Secretary-General Dr Asha-Rose Migiro said the decision was reached by the party’s organs, including the Central Committee, as part of disciplinary and ethical measures taken against some party members.

Speaking to media outlets  today, August 26, 2026, at the CCM Headquarters’ Lumumba office in Dar es Salaam, Ambassador Migiro said the decisions were aimed at upholding the party’s principles, rules and ethical standards.

She said Dr Nchimbi’s expulsion from the party was accompanied by his removal from the position of Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania.
